I looked back through this thread but I couldn't find what version of mythtv you're running. The reason I ask is that on the developer mailing list we've just established that the protocol changed between myth 0.19 and myth 0.20 and some aspects of mvpmc will not work with the new protocol. Live tv is one that comes to mind, I'm not sure about other functionality yet since I don't have an 0.20 version of myth running.
