Good old "date" will change the time for you.
I can't remember the exact syntax it's something like
date DDMMYYHHMM
Do some googling on it.
The question I have is how to set TZ correctly?
Anyone know the TZ string for the UK that takes into account BST?

rdate over internet is rather unreliable. You need to rdate to a local
server. And I guess most people running the mcpmc software will have a
unix server in their home network. So why not rdate from there?
