Yes!!! This worked for me as well. Using TCP instead of UDP has given  
me 13mb/s reliably. I'm not sure that it has anything to do with the  
network being congested or multi-speed, however. My network is fully  
switched and not heavily loaded, and all 100base-T and I was  
consistently seeing 8mb/s or less.
