At the moment, I was looking into mvpmc reset problems when switching
between mclient and, say, mythtv. I haven't gotten very far and have
really torn up my private copy of the load trying to find a pattern.

I understand FLAC is possible on the slimdevices.com hardware clients.
In order to implement it in mvpmc it has to be possible for the hardware
to deal with it and I need to understand how the slimserver software
communicates with the client as to which format is being streamed.

Martin, perhaps you have already said, but does mvpmc understand FLAC?
That is, can you play such files from the mvpmc file browser now?

As far as how it is done between slimserver and a slimdevices.com
client... I am hoping there is a clear cut method that only works on
FLAC files. That is, we might be in trouble if FLAC transmission is
base on the revision of the client. A higher revision might lead the
server to think that mvpmc can do more than it is capable of (for
instance displaying graphics instead of just characters).

If you know the answers to these questions that would be a great help.

...thanks
