I always assumed this wouldn't work well and never really tried it. But I recall others saying differently. The MediaMVP's hardware buffers up several seconds of music and the management of this resource hasn't been clear to me (note, sometimes, at the beginning of a session, you hear the start of the first track twice and sometimes the first second or two are skipped - (i.e. the difference between not resetting the hardware buffers and resetting them (tricky trying to figure out which to do for a given situation!))). I can try some experiments over the next few days and get back to you. Regardless of how this turns out, I would recommend not to mix hardware. That is, it may be near impossible to synchronize between a Slimdevices box and a MediaMVP box because of differences in hardware. I assume the way the slimserver does this is to issue a "buffer reset" command to all clients. It's been a while and I'll have to check if that feature is in MClient. Of course, if it's working as I expect it to, that will cause the first several seconds of music to be skipped on all MVPMC boxes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
