I have a couple of MVP units (H2/H3) that I use mainly as mythtv front
ends. I'm running myth 0.20.2 and an mvpmc nightly from last
September. Lately I've noticed that commercial skipping was not
working, but only on recently recorded programs. I checked my mythtv
logs, and they confirm that commercial flagging was still happening.
For example, for a recent recording, the backend log says:
"Commercial Flagging Finished, 7 break(s) found"
I tried telneting in and starting mvpmc from the command line to see
if the messages during playback would provide any clues. For the
same recording referred to above, I see:
"Found 0 commercial breaks for current program."
However, if I play back a recording from a few months back, it finds
the correct number of breaks, and commskipping works.

So, something has become broken in the intervening months, but what?
Are the breaks no longer being recorded correctly in the database
(but not generating an error message in the mythtv logs), or is it a
problem with accessing them from the MVP side? Is this some kind of
strange MYSQL problem? Any suggestions as to what to try next to
chase this one down?
