I believe that all of the flash-based units come with the newer, larger 
remote control (depicted on the right in [1]), and this will be pictured 
on the cardboard product packaging.

Be sure you are being shown an actual photo and not a stock photo. I 
made the mistake of not inquiring whether a photo was an actual photo 
and ended up getting a D3 rev. unit instead of an H-series unit, as was 
pictured.

We should add a chart to the wiki for these numbers.

I have a rev. H3 wireless with wMVP, model 1016, SL-1016-V2.0-US on the 
box; and a wired H3 with MediaMVP, model 1000, SL-1000-V1.2-US.

The older (bought in 2006) wired unit also lacks a photo of the remote 
on the package, instead having a window to show the product inside (in 
which I don't think the remote would be visible). But it seems the newer 
packages have replaced the window with a photo of the product.

It sounds like the number you listed should be for an H3 or newer.
