In my tests the MVP won't *ever* display anything above 720x480, if the width
is 721 or greater it does not work, if the height is 481 or greater it won't 
work no matter what the other size is or what the bitrate is.

Now that was having it set to NTSC in the US, but I suspect that the limit is a 
hardware MPEG decoder limit and separate for NTSC or PAL.

Try setting it down to 720x480 or lower for both width and height.

If this is the case, you should be able to hit OK after the incorrect 
resolution 
attempts to start and you should get a OSD menu that shows a changing bitrate, 
and other things.
