What sort of video capture device do you have on each backend?

If your secondary backend is recording analog video (via a PVR-x50 or
something), but your primary frontend is recording pure digital
streams (firewire/HDHR/DVB) then the primary backend may be capturing
audio in an encoding which cannot be played on the MVP hardware.  In
this case, you'd need to set up transcoding to get the audio encoded
into mp3 format.
