You need to remember that the MVP is an embedded device, with minimal
onboard memory, and a network card with minimal buffering (note the small
frame sizes needed on NFS mounts for example), and you will see that the
unit is far less capable of riding through network slowdown (and by
implication anything that is putting data ONTO the network at the other
end) than a full-blown PC with a decent amount of memory, processing speed
and network stack.
