I wouldn't agree with that. Certainly if something is going wrong on the backend, that can interfere with performance, but there can be lots of other reasons for this. If the bitrates of your recordings are too high, the mvp just won't have the horsepower to play them. Are you using NFS or the mythtv protocol to access your mythtv recordings?
