as an answer to the above, yes i did, all future items were in the to do list. The advanced rules i turned on were (DueDate Time on or before Today) OR (DueDate Time does not exist) Also, my start dates are being entered because i use rapid task entry & quite often add a due date, maybe when using rapid task entry only the due date should be checked? although i suspect a better option, would be an user option in settings, "Use Start Dates" with a check box.
