Hi,

don't use the old config files... NEVER use the old
config files when you have new hardware... Do the
config from scratch, and remember to check out the
documentation on flashtux (eciadsl site) to see which
options need to be compiled in the kernel and which as
modules. You also need to include stuff like hdlc
support... Don't bother with the kernel's DSL Modem or
USB modem options, none of those are required, and
will probably cause more issues with installation...

Do the following... Download the documentaion from the
site, print/write down the kernel compilation options
on a piece of paper, get into linux, check your
symlinks to the kernel source, start from scratch.
Everything from make mrproper and make clean, do not
skip anything... Configure your standard hardware
first, then use your 'checklist' and add all the stuff
thats needed for the DSL modem, compile your kernel,
add to lilo, etc...

Ultimately, the ethernet option is a LOT easier to
deal with, and fewest problems, but getting the DSL
modem to work, that gives you a weird sort of
satisfaction... :) Good luck.
