Follow-up Comment #12, bug #20068 (project mypaint):

That's... odd. Does this always happen around window switches?
I've only encountered this with MyPaint, no other applications, and now only
when the focus change is quick. Before it wasn't time-sensitive. Occurs when
there is a focus change from the MyPaint canvas window to another window (not
just MyPaint) and then back to MyPaint's canvas quickly.
Now for the various questions:
* There's no drag at all. Tee cursor changes to the panning cursor but no
movement occurs.
* It occurs on buttonpress, not release.
* The icon isn't a hand at all, it looks like a MyPaint-specific cursor that
doesn't match my cursor theme. It's white with a white four-directional arrow
(north, south, east, west) and green corner directions (NE, SE, NW, SW)
* The entire application becomes unresponsive until I hit escape. No menus, no
toolbars, nothing.
Various environment information for you:
* Distribution is still Debian testing (wheezy). It's in freeze, so it's on
its way to going stable now.
* DE of choice is KDE
* Gtk2 theme is Nodoka-Midnight
* Qt theme is Oxygen
* My cursor theme is from the "Comix Cursor" set available in Debian's
repository.
* I normally use xbindkeys and imwheel for mouse and tablet-pad customisation,
but I've tested with them both off. No change.
* Window manager is Kwin, with Oyxgen window decorations.
** I've tested with Kwin's compositing on and off, no change.
** I tested with Metacity and got the same behaviour
** Xfce's window manager, Xfwm4, did not seem to do this.
*** I'm not sure if Xfwm4's behaviour differing from Metacity and Kwin is
because of the time-sensitive nature of the problem or a difference in the way
the window managers behave.
Probably more information than you need, but I'd rather give too much.
Hopefully something there helps.
