I pushed some code cleanups that also touched this area just now. More on topic; it seems to me that all these things are fairly special stuff, and things that could easily be implemented as generic tools operating with/on OpenRaster files. That would enable them to be used with other applications as well, and create value around the OpenRaster format. Just a thought.
