To be honest I'm a little bit ashamed not even to have reviewd this, now that so many people spend time translating them. > For example, I don't think that an average artist would understand > "standard deviation". Yes I know, and I was even aware of this when I wrote that term. > But I also understand, that this might be a needed thing because of the > complex nature of your brush editor (which is one of the greatest part of > the app). Nah. Settings could easily be explained in a more user friendly and less precise way. But in my understanding the brush settings are almost part of the source code. The brush engine was designed to be easy to change, and as a developer I find it quite helpful when they hint at the implementation. I realize that this is not a very friendly point of view, since they are visible in the user interface and some users do want to create own brushes. So maybe we could split the descriptions in two parts - a simplifying description for users first, and a more technical, non-translatable description (including the cname) clearly separated below? Still, this is at the bottom of my priority list atm (patches welcome). Users seem to find their way around by trial and error, and there is even an instant preview available. _______________________________________________ Mypaint-discuss mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gna.org/listinfo/mypaint-discuss
