Okay, let's not spend too much time on 0.9.1. I have created a 0.9 branch
and will backport some commits later.  No string changes.

If you want to join the git cherry-pick'ing, the quality check should be to
briefly review every change that goes in.  The branch will be released
without additional testing.

Looking at the amount of git activity, maybe it won't be too long until 1.0 :-)
