You might want to have a look at our free utility called The_Usual, so named because it's what a regular customer says in a bar or restaurant. It's written in PHP and it does all the usual things such as Add, Edit, Search, and goes a bit further (master-detail forms, etc.) -- all automatically, based on the table definitions and declared foreign keys.
