I am using the RPM's from ftp.mysql.com. I thought it was hardware as well until I created a 2nd machind (the 2nd server that was had 2 CPUs) and both of them had the same results. But I know its not a query thats hanging it, because as I ordered the 2nd server I had a server with 1 CPU doing the work, and it worked with no problems.
