--------
Can anyone that was experiencing the thread thrashing
problems with the other binaries confirm that this has
 been with resolved with 53a?
 --------

Yes. At least for us. We can again do 3,000+ qps. The 'out of sync'
errors were completely separate issue related to PHP.

 --------
Previously, upgrading from 3.23.32 to .53 proved to be
disasterous as mysql would throttle the cpu to the
 point of no return.
 --------

Maybe you have already done this, but may I suggest you do a more
thorough testing of MySQL versions? You were compiling from source,
correct?

Recompile 3.23.32 from source. Fresh download of source. Make sure this
still works the same as your old 3.23.32.

Start zeroing in on a MySQL version that where you experience changes.
Something like testing 3.23.32 then 3.23.53 then 3.23.39, etc. while
closing in on a version that changes your experience.

It is no fun on a production server, I know. However, this helped MySQL
AB in tracking down the issue we experienced. Could do the same for you.

PS: What OS?

Sincerely,
Steven Roussey
