I found MySQL Cookbook really good for figuring out how to solve a problem - good if you are coming from another database, or have a list of specific problems.
I haven't read MySQL Reference Manual, but I have read Mastering MySQL 4 - I thought it was quite good. Head to your local book store, and browse the MySQL section - buy the book that gets a good Amazon.com review (ie not full of mistakes), covers the version you are interested in deploying, and that you find readable.
