I could never get it loud enough to hear anything (changed all the config settings including the onboard gain). I finally went with a pci card and then you can adjust the gain on the driver to get it loud enough to use.
Anyway, I had tried to put asterisk on the same box and play with them working together, but I never was really happy with how it worked. And if I did anything like heavy transcode and commerical detection with myth, asterisk was borked.
