Agreed, Lorraine! Now I am wondering which oils have molecules small enough to penetrate the SOG. The same oils which work on acrylic? Marsha Rubino Gimme Nails @ Skin Envy Day Spa 38 First Ave E. Ste. E Kalispell, MT 59901 406-755-3771

Regular, hard gel does not allow penetration of oils like Solar Oil. Correct? Now, with these new SOGs in use, will they allow penetration of oil down to the nail plate? > >Marsha Rubino >Gimme Nails @ Skin Envy Day Spa >38 First Ave E. Ste. The chemistry of SOG makes them porous so they can be soaked off - it does not matter if we are talking 5 or 40 minutes, they are NOT impervious to acetone as traditional "hard" gels are. I would think even with hard gels, oiling cuticles will allow a certain amount of penetration of oils into the bed from whatever growth area there is.
