The "we need to talk" speech is a way for YOU to express what YOUR needs and requirements are to work there also! Don't let it be a one sided conversation. Write down some topics that YOU want to talk about, like the list of unbelieveable goings on that you described to us a few days ago. Unreal! You would be LUCKY to be fired from this stupid job! Maybe you could get unemployment until you find something else, but find something else you must! You are better than this salon, trust me! RUN MITCHELE RUN! :-) I don't believe there is any hope that you can work out a way to work at this place. Be super prepared for your next job interview. Its too late for this place! An interview is a way for them to find out if they think that you will fill the position that they are offering, and also a way for you to find out if the salon is going to fit what will work for you. Please make a list of requirements that you think are necessary to work and use the interview to see if their position is really what you're looking for. Stuff such as rent vs. commission, who buys supplies, pay rate, rent, salon hours, services offered, price scale, days off, vacation, benefits, etc. If you have a list of what your requirements are, it makes it easier to say, "Oh, I don't think this will work for me then, because I will need at least 5 days a week or 8 hours a day" or whatever it is that YOU are going to need to work to pay the bills and make a living at this. I've been doing nails for 30 years now, full time, and had 2 salons that I had to get the heck out of (after 8 years or so at each one!) and I've been at the most wonderful day spa with the most wonderful co-workers/friends now for the past 15 years! The bad salons were really, really bad, and I hated getting up each and every day to go there. I love my job and where I work now! Change is worth it!
