I would go as far to say that even if somebody gives you *free* 40G equipment in the year 2022 you shouldn't use it, because it's a technological dead-end and becomes a huge bother when you need to interface with some newly purchased device on the other end of the 40G circuit.
There's a reason why 40G anything is so cheap on eBay and 40G ports are incredibly rare at the world's major IX points.
