The oldest trophy in intercollegiate sailing will be battled for under very
brisk conditions on this coming weekend. Harvard and MIT are looking
forward to cranking off many very efficiently managed races for you.

Weather is going to be brutally cold with a very fresh westerly on Saturday
and less pressure more from the North on Sunday. Please bring multiple
changes of gloves, hats, and very thermal socks. MIT will have a grille
going on the dock which everyone is welcome to use at anytime.

Parking is usually abundant on Mem Drive Westbound. The Hayward Street Lot
is also available despite the signage. http://whereis.mit.edu/

Boat rotations will take place from the MIT docks throughout the event.
There will be adequate space inside the boat bays at the pavilion for gear
bags as our rec program is not quite open for the season. We do wish to
keep the bags out of the classroom area once racing gets going so there is
adequate heated space for sailors and subs to get warm.

Report time is 10 on Saturday due to crew races and 930 on Sunday. Full
event SIs are attached. Please forward us your starting line ups so we
might be able to pre-load Tech Score ahead of time.

Firefly Rigging Tips are available in video here-

The carbon tech dinghy division will be sailed as an isolated event.
Sailors are welcome to switch from one regatta to the other at will. Techs
will not be rotated so teams can take care of their own boat if they decide
to not race in a set. These boats are completely different from the fifth
gen tech dinghies. At almost half the weight, they do not carry much
momentum for luffing around a windward mark and heeling to windward on a
run is an exciting ticket to a swim. They plane very easily.

Again, Harvard and MIT are looking forward to hosting a fun, gnarly and
super competitive battle on the Rivah.
