Thanks for the note.  I wasn't trying to be rude either.  I was trying to
explore the possibility that some part of the resistance to XP could be that
many software developers believe that they are doing the best that they can
within their environment.  They are constantly trying to improve, but those
improvements are often toward more process, where we suggest less.

Along the way, I related a concrete example from my experience, of the depth of
resistance in my little corner of the world.  The discussion quickly veered off
course to take up my pedigree as a salesman.  Of course I'm a lousy salesman,
I'm an INTJ computer geek!  I am not accusing or contentious when I am talking
with potential customers.  I do admit to being a smart*ss at times.  I promise
not to bring up how difficult it can be to sell XP ever again.  We can let that
800 pound gorilla relax over in the corner.
