Just an update, I soaked the tubes in hot soapy water, the coating and the 
back printing came off :(
I had an idea to etch the original lettering and add the Tesla company logo 
on the back of the tubes. I have had a template made from my custom artwork.
I hope to try this out next week and I will post a link to photos of the 
results.
