I wrote about moving the neotek recently, and so far its been moved successfully. We pulled all the channels and moved it separately, and nothing to our knowledge is broken. So now comes the part where we reassemble. Now, aside from the obvious static discharge and such, what are some of the things we want to be careful of when reassembling the channels? Also, is it possible to run the console without all the channels connected, say less than half? Next bigger and more philosophical question is the best way (and what value) to calibrate this. I've never been unhappy with the headroom I've had with this console, and I've generally been hitting this very hard with the 192's from Pro Tools with results i'm quite pleased with. Any suggestions on the best way to do this on an 86 Elite? There is no master insert on this, btw. My last and final question today is does anyone have a smaller Neotek (like a smaller Elite or Elan, 16 channels or less). I've seen a few broadcast consoles with names that escape me at the moment, but they seemed to have a bunch of line summing and a limited number of channels. It intends to be setup mainly for mixing, ideally summing 16 channels. Do most of these consoles have similar headroom to a Neotek Elite? We're really looking to expand our workflow and having one smaller Elite-esque to hand off to mix to after tracking on the larger Neotek, and would love to hear people's experiences with these consoles, and maybe even an idea of what they usually go for on the market.
