Hello everyone! Long story short, I bought some already racked strips. They are wired for a 4-pin external power supply. I called up Mike Stoica and he made me a power supply to put in the rack enclosure with the strips. Very cool. Now I have it but I need to wire it, source an AC inlet and install it.
1. As far as wiring the 48v, Ground, +18v, -18v, I know the wiring scheme of the rack and Mike's PSU is clearly labeled. see images here: http://destroybigbrother.com/images/neotek/ I believe the points Mike dotted are the solder points on the underside as labeled on the topside. 2. Sourcing an AC inlet/power entry module: I don't know what I need. What have you guys used? I would like a fuse and in it and wish to use one of the buss/2mix routing switches for power on/off if feasible. To my deduction (based entirely on staring at these PCBs and pictures of AC inlets/P.E.M.s for long periods of time) it seems the ideal AC inlet/P.E.M. would be 2 poles + ground, but that does not address power on/off, so this is the purpose of 4 pole AC inlets/P.E.M. right? with 2 poles it would be constant flow of current when plugged in so 4 poles are introduced to allow switched interruption in the circuit, or is that wrong? 3. Safely/properly grounding: am i correct in that once i find the right AC inlet/P.E.M. all should have to do is wire the green cable (labeled Module GND/chassis) to the proper pole on the AC inlet/P.E.M. and be done with it? I know this is a 15 minute job but I've been hung up on these bits since July 15!!! All I need is the correct info, directions to the correct info, or a confirmation that my conclusions are right...
