I'm using the following versions: NessusWX 1.3.3 Nessusd 1.2.3 (on OpenBSD 3.1) Nmap 2.54BETA33
I can't seem to configure the Nmap plugin properly in NessusWX. For example, under 'Configure Plugins', 'NMap', 'TCP Scanning Technique', I change the selection from 'connect()' to 'SYN scan'. When I execute the session, it still begins a 'connect()' scan, which is EXTREMELY slow! I decided to try another tactic. I ran the Nmap scan manually from a root shell on my server, saving the results in a file. Then, I copied the file to my Windows machine and specified it's location under 'Configure Plugins', 'NMap', 'File containing nmap's results:'. I was hoping this would prevent NessusWX from running a connect() scan, but no such luck. It recognized the ports that were listed as open in my results file, but went on to begin a connect() scan anyway. How can I get Nmap doing what I want (SYN scan) or in general to respect what I configure in NessusWX? Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks for any suggestions... - [EMAIL PROTECTED]: general discussions about Nessus. * To unsubscribe, send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe nessus" in the body.
