Michel: I appreciate your advice, but maybe you can clarify something for me. I have Nmap installed on my server, and it works from a command line there. But based on what you've told me, it is not being used, but rather a plugin version built-in to Nessus? So are you saying that the Nmap plugin configuration settings in NessusWX apply to the "built-in" version, not the command line version on my server? Then if I was to tell NessusWX to disable Nmap (under plugins), it would not use the plugin version. Would it then us the server copy? And if that's the case, how would I pass scan parameters to Nmap?
Sorry if this isn't making make sense, I'm just confused about how this whole thing works. I really don't care what instance of Nmap runs my scan, so long as I can tell it to do a SYN scan and not do a tcp connect scan. And BTW, since someone mentioned that Nmap 3.00 is out, if I install that on my server will Nessus use it? TIA for you further assistance... - [EMAIL PROTECTED]: general discussions about Nessus. * To unsubscribe, send a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe nessus" in the body.
