FYI, I've been very actively involved in another project called
"net-policy" (which relies heavily on Net-SNMP as well as a number of
other packages) and is designed to be a more easy to use and generic
manager.  It's very operational now but not yet perfect.  It does some
pretty cool things (displays dynamically generated network maps,
red/green status lights, lets you perform configuration, etc).  If
you're interested in checking it out, see net-policy.sourceforge.net
for details.  Make sure you use CVS instead of the tar balls (which
are very very out of date at this point).  If you use CVS, run
./np-install to get it up and installed.  Requires linux at this point.
