FYI, I've been very actively involved in another project called "net-policy" (which relies heavily on Net-SNMP as well as a number of other packages) and is designed to be a more easy to use and generic manager.

when you say 'relies heavily' .... does it require net-snmp's "full" agent, or is the "mini" agent sufficient?
i've had no list response to bugs i'd posted re: the agent failing on OSX, so am 'stuck' with just the mini-agent ...
