Hi I recently installed Net-SNMP 5.1 from a red-hat distribution for Proliant server, net-snmp-cmaX-5.1-83-rhel3.i386.rpm (also the devel rpm). I am using Net-SNMP to provide agentX subagent functionality. After resolving an issue in table_mfd.h and linking with the new libraries, I got a build that works for SNMP requests, but that does not send traps. The communication with the master agent seems fine as indicated by the debug output, however, no traps (actually SNMPv2 notifications) are actually sent. Also it seems odd that when the subagent starts, net-snmp sends an authenticationFailure trap.
I am wondering if the problem is that I have some libraries that need to be updated to be compatible with the new 5.1 code. Can you provide any guidance on this?
