Now I'm confused again. The consensus on Friday was that we ought to ship a back-ported version of snmpnetstat, rather than drop it altogether. I don't disgree with this changed decision - that was my original preference all along. But I'm somewhat surprised to find such a change of direction appearing out of the blue. > There are build issues wrt. snmpnetstat on most *nix platforms Of course there are - this is very new code, and I've been concentrating on getting the basic framework in place. I've only got access to one build environment, so it's inevitable there'll be problems on other systems. That's why I proposed dropping back to pre-release status (in practise, if not necessarily in name) so that we could sort out such problems before cutting a new 5.2.2 release candidate. > I'd suggest to join IRC to discuss the details. Sorry, that's not possible today - my Monday commitments don't allow it. Which is why I've been asking for a summary of the state of play. I have a sneaking feeling that release decisions are being made on IRC again :-( Dave ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
