Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help. Did you want me to use 0.0.0.0:10161 or to specify my
localhost address? I actually tried both and it didn't seem to work (got the
same "Error opening endpoint"). Here is what I did
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/work/snmp/net-snmp-5.4.2.1$ sudo snmpd -Le -C -c
/usr/local/share/snmp/snmpd.conf 0.0.0.0:10161
[sudo] password for misen:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/work/snmp/net-snmp-5.4.2.1$ Error opening specified
endpoint "0.0.0.0:10161"
Server Exiting with code 1
Regards,
Mitul

Try using 0.0.0.0:10161 as your listening address. I believe the
":port" notation is documented, but I vaguely recall trying it and not having
it work.
HTH,
Mike
