Please consider the following question:
- How does the snmptable command know when it has
received the last row of table A?

No - you are quite correct.
The reason you are seeing this extra "unnecessary" request
is tied up with the fundamental design of SNMP. It's not
specific to your particular code - you would see exactly the
same behaviour with any other table.
