I have recently rolled out netatalk corporate wide and after a few initial glitches,
seems to be running well. I have no plans what-so-ever to add an OSX server and
therefore would continue to use netatalk until we are no longer using Macs. My
company's base infrastructure is completely *nix (mostly AIX and Linux), with a couple
mac servers, and that will most likely never change. The use of netatalk has enabled
us to migrate our older Mac servers to linux with little effect on the user community,
saving tons of money in having to upgrade the mac servers, and also making life easier
on the IS dept.
I hope to see the development effort to continue and grow. Not being much of a coder
myself, I only have resources and a testing environment to offer, but I will be glad
to help out where I can. Just my $.02. =)
Also, one side note-
The latest version (in the subj) has eliminated the alias problem and AFAIK, has not
damaged any files, graphics or otherwise.
