I believe the issue of corrupted files has been brought up time and again,
yet never really been addressed, or acknowledged by anyone - unfortunately,
I have never experienced this issue myself, but itr is being brought up
often enough to warrant serious consideration.

Then again, the mantra-answer to the alias issue is always the same,
useless, "Don't use aliases"....
