Hi Karen, we believe criticism is interesting and important, therefore we invite people to criticise our works online and keep the criticisms as part of the documentation. We don't feel like starting a discussion with those anonymous criticisms although sometimes people start responding to each others comments which is fine if it happens. So to answer your first question YES there are several points in criticizing asn making it possible to do it. Even though people don't write themselves it is interesting for them to read what other people wrote we believe.
NO, a reaction from the public whatever it might be is not the main purpose of our work, although it certainly is one purpose.
