Thanks Andrew, what software are you using? -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of A Douglas Sent: 13 January 2006 13:51 To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Provision of Media Studies
You can definately get C2K to increase the allocation to specific users. What we did was take alot from our non teaching staff who didn't really use the computers - they get 1Gb of storage. What you definately should NOT do is make yourself a few non teaching accounts - not sure if there is a limit to how many you can have - and then tell them to take the space from these dummy accounts;) I'm sure this would be against "the rules"! Am interested to know if your school is delivering A2, AS and/or GCSE Media Studies and Moving Image Arts. If so do you use Apple Macs or PCs? If PCs, legacy or C2k? If the latter, how do you solve the problem of space allocated to pupils on the servers? Also what software are you using to deliver the course? If using C2K systems you may be able to get C2K to adjust the user space for specific users. Alternatively, and if you can afford it, you could supply external usb connected hard drives.
