Mirella,

The Apple platform provides a nice progression from a basic iMovie (although
basic there are some very strong features) to Final Cut.

You should try and get along the the Apple event (below).

Also there are several schools you might want to visit (I'm glad to be of help
here) to see what other folk are doing - these media folk aren't on netman so
won't respond to your posting but they are doing some marvelous work, maybe
their colleagues on netman could give an idea of their setup.

Also Michael Gibson at Mountcollyer does a lot of work in video and we can
arrange for a demo.

Hi there,

I actually teach ICT and Moving Image Arts in our school. We use mac
mini computers which are great for this course. In terms of software,
it's iMovie for beginners and for those who have the interest/capability
we are using Final Cut Express (this cost extra - iMovie is standard).

Question to all ICT colleagues out there...

Am interested to know if your school is delivering A2, AS and/or GCSE
Media Studies and Moving Image Arts. If so do you use Apple Macs or
PCs? If PCs, legacy or C2k? If the latter, how do you solve the
problem of space allocated to pupils on the servers? Also what software
are you using to deliver the course?
