You're missing a name service.  Are you sure that's what you want to
do?  I would have expected DNS to be configured.

At least do this:

        cp /etc/nsswitch.dns /etc/nsswitch.conf

Why do you need that or why do you feel that's missing?

Can you post something more about your problem or provide some
context?  What did the system look like after you went through this
process?  What did "ifconfig -a" say?  What did "netstat -nr" say?
Can you ping anything?

You'll need to describe more about the precise problem you're seeing.
