Hi,

the downloaded driver from broadcom (version 4.0.4) does
only support /kernel/drv/bnx.conf:mtu= ... (instead of Jumbo=...)
in the configuration file. I was not able to active jumboframes
with this driver.

I installed a new opensolars 1/08 with the sun-included bnx
driver (Broadcom NXII GbE v3.5.6.1). In this bnx.conf, i
have to set the /kernel/drv/bnx.conf:Jumbo=0,9000,...
After reboot i tried to set the mtu via "ifconfig bnx1 mtu 9000 up" - but
i got "setifmtu: SIOCSLIFMTU: bnx1: Invalid argument"

I tried to enable jumbo-frames with ndd, but
  ndd /dev/bnx1 '?'
told me, there's no parameter jumbo to set ....

So, i can't enable MTU 9000 with my
System HP 460c,
onboard Board Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708S Gigabit Ethernet
   subsystem-vendor-id:0000103c, subsystem-id 0000703b
   Vendor-id: 14e4 device-id:16ac

Question: Does anybody use the bnx driver with mtu 9000 ??

I have no idea for tracking down this problem now ...

regards

Danny
