I believe that it is suggested that you make your swap partition at least
twice as large as your amount of RAM for your system to run reasonably.  I
have 40MB of RAM and a swap of 50MB (couldn't allocate more at the time) and
my linux system runs a little faster than my Win 98 on a good day.

Even if i make my own partitions beforehand?

My Hd is 1.2 gigs... half for widows and half for Mandrake... Four
partitions... 1 for
DOS, 1 root (about 400mb), 1 swap (40mb) and 1 usr (the rest of it... i
cant remember right now)
