[newbie] Off-Brand 15" 1024x768 Monitor

Hi,

I installed M-RH6.0 last night, and even though I have the
monitor above, and an ATI 4MB card, the only display settings 
that seemed to work are 640x480, in 8-bit.

Anyone have similar experiances, or recommendations to fix?
