I've got two hard drives in my computer -- an 850 meg IDE and a 10.5 GB
(some reason it only shows up as 8.5 GB) SCSI drive. I'm booting off my IDE
drive, but for some reason the system will NOT boot unless I have the boot
disk in the floppy drive (the one I made at install.)
The symptoms are this:
Black screen with a blinking/flashing "underscore" character ("_") in the
upper left corner of the screen.
The hardware is as follows:
Dual-PPro 200 MHZ in a W6LI Micronics motherboard with 192 MB RAM. SCSI
controller is an ABP940-UA (PCI Ultra Narrow.) Video is an S3 Virge DX 4mb
PCI video. On-board sound (Vibra 16).
IDE drive is a Seagate 850 (Re-labled Conner after Seagate bought Conner.)
SCSI is a Seagate full-height 5.25".
Please feel free to ask anything else. I've got it set to boot to init level
3 (console, NOT GUI!) I have tried two different monitors -- a "Socos" 14"
and a Compaq 15" both SVGA.
