This brings up another problem.  I thought this would work:

-Start rxvt
-Type in su -c printtool
-Enter my root password

Alas, it doesn't:

[andy@localhost andy]$ su -c printtool
Password: 
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
Application initialization failed: couldn't connect to display ":0.0"
Couldn't load bindings.tcl
Start from control-panel or set environment variable
CONTROL_PANEL_LIB_DIR to the control-panel library dir.
(normally this is /usr/lib/rhs/control-panel)
