LV, try reading /usr/share/doc/bonnie++-1.02a/readme.html. It's been
a long time since I tested with bonnie. I remember the doc's were not
very understandable, but after foolin with it for a while I managed to
get usable test results. All of which I've completely forgotten by
now, sorry ;( Curious, what's in /mnt/wine ?

It's basically a marketing gimick. Leave it disabled. SMART is
rarely useful, and then only if the drive is failing very slowly, and
not mechanically. By the time you get a warning, it's most often
already too late. While the impact is minimal, enabling SMART will
decrease performance.
